what to do, what to do (ongoing)

So here I am, writing a blog post from my Blackberry and wondering about jumping to Verizon for the Curve, or waiting for the Blackberry Storm, or maybe something else.

Renewing with T-Mobile won’t happen due to poor Customer Service and other woes (MMS – picture – message support has been suspect at best) and the costs to upgrade are ridiculous.

AT&T wireless is out too. Their Data-Only plans are not only unclear but potentially full of hidden costs.

Verizon Wireless – while more costly per month – is heralded wherever I ask. So now it’s a question of wait-and-see or get something usefull now.

I am leaning towards the latter, though the former may be a true option by tomorrow (as there is a presentation by RIM tomorrow).

Overdue for some changes

Following Nick Starr’s lead, I’ve upgraded der Stonegauge to WordPress 2.1. I gotta do more upgrading — like, content wise — in the near future.

Revamp

Upgrade, ebay sales…  Lucky hats, I am on a tear posting here…

But you gotta admit, I gotta change the look of this site.  It looks like shit

Upgraded

Because to spamers getting through, a bad install of Spam Karma and the need to do it anyway, der Stonegauge has been upgraded to WordPress 2.0.

For those on DREAMHOST who upgraded to WordPress 2, you will not have access to your server stats from Dreamhost unles you correct some information in the HTAccess file that WordPress installs by default.  You can find the resolution here.

A rare update

I haven’t really been in the mood to blog lately – on here or elsewhere. Maybe it’s because I’ve been in a bah-humbug mood with my life and stuff. Maybe it’s because I find myopinion or other things I say nonsense because even if you agree – it doesn’t really change things…?

I’ve been slow to update Boltsmag lately also because I feel out of place doing it. I don’t cover the team well, I am not in a position for inside information with the franchise or in a position to write the news regarding the team. It’s a good site with a bad writer and little input from readers.

I had hand surgery on my firght hand back in Novvember… It was actually a good thing in tha tI got rid of some painful nuiscance tumors but it slowed me down for a while – trying to get by with one hand (my left) which I am not strong with…

Madeline – my little Whippet pup – is over seven months old now. She’s extremely active still, and still hard to contorl in social situations as she gets excited when anyone new is around…

I’m trying to help Carl Zimmermann with his campaign website… As of current he cannot take online donations and the page is incomplete, I would like to upgrade the entire damn thing but life continues for Carl even as he runs for office – makign things slow in development. I tshould turn out ok though.

The Zimmermann campaign and contributing to Sticks of Fire with news scoops and articles are aobut the highlights of life right now – it’s been grim for the most part.

Upgrade and Work

I’m doing big time late-summer-cleaning on Der Stonegauge and that means upgrading software, deleting old files, etc… And seeing I have had der Stonegauge in several variations since 1998 (and this domain since 2002) there is a lot of cleaning to be done….

The site theme is being changed around and I plan on changing the Favicon as well, hopefully soon but you never know…

WordPress upgrade and subsequent headaches

Note to self – WordPress 1.2 was absolutely fine and wordpress 1.5 is absolutely messed up.

Bye Bye T900, hello Ogo

Well, after sending the T900 TalkAbout back to who it belonged to, I was hit pretty hard with wondering “What now”with regards to my wireless future. Should I go out and just get another T900? Should I look into something else like the Danger Sidekick II from T-Mobile? Or was there a cheeper and simpleer solution out htere that was an upgrade of the T900 and yet wasn’t filled with too many add ons, mediocre service and foreign support.

That’s about when I went into 7-11 and was introduced to AT&T Wireless (now Cingular) and their Ogo messenger.

It’s not the neat little small device that I am used to with the T900… but then again it isn’t limited to just sending emails / text messages at 1 message per 500 Characters. It does Pop3 email, it also can be configured to get both AOL IM messages and Yahoo messages so you can chat realtime depending on how your strong your signal is.

While it’s not a cell phone and certainly isn’t for those who rely on the phone – it fills a niche with me.
